Before taking any desperate action, I would suggest this reading :

Stephane, I agree with you that messing with references is not a good idea, but I also agree with WELCOMETOBKK that trying to corrupt the vouching system isn't likely to be effective either.

You have now repeatedly made assumptions about what this or that vouch is based on, trying to deduct the reasons for the vouch from the text written in references or friend links. Neither of these tell the whole story, though. They are rarely up-to-date and often precede the vouching by considerable timen be it because the person can not yet vouch or because more interactions than those described in references and friend links occur first. There is no date and no explanation for the vouches. Thus your guesses bear high potential of being wrong. They are in my case.

Vouches are only as good as the people who give them. So at least vouches give some information about who shares your values and who doesn't. If you find someone not trustworthy you can see who else apparently is not, at least not when it comes to good judgement. If you now start messing up that principle the vouches become unreadable.

"The example of L'APOLOGISTE® shows that the vouching system is already unreadable."

I guess we'll just have to agree that we read it differently.

My reading of those vouches is that the people who vouched for this particular person cannot be trusted to make good judgement or that at least they don't share my values. They warn me to stay away from these people, or at least to be careful when interacting with them.

I agree, however, that someone less discerning can be mislead.
