Hi Anita. It is unlikely that there is any connection between your group membership here and the bugs in other groups.

Where does it say that you are not currently a member of any group?

You may want to check this:

http://www.couchsurfing.org/group_edit.html

Daily and weekly digests haven't worked for many months, but Instant Replies should work. If Instant Replies it is selected and you still don't receive notifications in your personal mailbox, you may want to check the spam folder. My messages from CouchSurfing often land there.

And if that doesn't work, and you don't have a message from CS Customer Service there either, don't let them off the hook. After all, you are a paying customer and can expect at least replies, if not a professional service!

Good luck!

Anita,

E-mail has always been rather aleatory, especially that from mailing lists, where it is often confused with spam.

Depending on how you receive your email, there may actually be three different spam folders at different levels, at least one of which may not be accessible to you. ISPs filter emails in various ways, sometimes refusing all traffic that is trapped by their software and sometimes inaccurately defined as spam. (They even have an economic incentive to eliminate large quantities of "known spam", therefore limiting the number of computers they must run. Some estimates say more than half of all traffic is spam.)

While possible, I doubt CS is running an involved "censorship" effort which would allow email to get to people like Uli and I, but block that of other people.
