Moderation of city groups
Posted December 20th, 2012 - 3:58 pm by from Quetzaltenango, Guatemala (Permalink)
For more than two years, I have been moderator of the group for my city. This morning, I intended to start a thread asking who might want to be the next moderator after I leave the city on January 15.

I went to the group and noticed many confusing changes. There is now no one listed as moderator. The members are divided into "travelers" and "locals", but, based on knowing many of the members personally, the distinction seems to be arbitrary and totally inaccurate. How would one even begin to define this anyway? Many travelers become locals and vice versa.

If the owners of CS decided to remove me as moderator, that is fine, it is their site. (Obviously, it is no longer ours.) But a bit of explanation or notice would have been appreciated. Seems pretty shabby treatment to just disregard all the unpaid work I have done hosting and moderating.

To make things even more confusing, I notice that my friend Derek is still moderator of the last-minute group for my city. Can anyone shed any light on any of this?
