Lanzarote / Canaries live-in hackerspace inviting you to do cool stuff
Posted April 18th, 2012 - 7:22 pm by from Haria, Spain (Permalink)

I'd like to let everyone know we're setting up a live-in hacklab in a wonderful location, on the north of Lanzarote, Canary Islands -- and invite you to propose projects as potential residents.

We are interested in doing stuff ranging from information technology (digital humanities, hypermedia, cybernetics, linked data web, machine learning, mobile...), DIY electronics, sensors, modern agriculture/gardening, - to energetics, smart houses, and trying to set up a home chemlab.

The form I'm imagining would consist of a ~2 week stay, which would establish a solid "research" ground basis, and perhaps prototype work. Then I'd like to have projects that are implemented in 1-2 months.

CouchSurfing was one of the major influences on the form of this. I've had amazing mindshare with some people, and decided to take this to a next level: also try to provide a great work environment for creative nomads & researchers.

Details will be explained soon, but if you like the idea, get in touch now, or forward this to friends!

Looking forward to hear your thoughts on this.
