Futsal/Indoors football
Posted March 5th, 2012 - 5:19 pm by from Brussels, Belgium (Permalink)
Hello everyone, I just moved to Vienna for 4 months and I am looking for some opportunities to kick it once or twice a week.

I've browsed some older threads but they seem outdated. I know the winter season is coming to an end but in case some group still plays indoors and they miss an (average) player, let me know :) Also, if outdoors are becoming available, I am up for it as well.

If you're here for four months, you can go and register at the USI which is the sport institute in Vienna and has several football courses which we play football. But in around 2 months time, there would be football matches in parks.

I checked USI's page and I am a bit confused. Those are courses, does it mean those are proper trainings or just students playing football? Does anyone have some experience with USI?

Plus - it's getting warmer, we should hit some park soon :) Anyone knows a pitch?

Hey, I'm also always interesting in playing soccer, so if you ever get a game together, let me know. There are little spiel parks all over. The one closest to me is right outside the subway station Rosauer Lände on the U4, but they are everywhere. I also played at the Augarten this weekend. The Prater is also good for playing outdoors. I also have 2 balls that I can bring with.

Me too. If you ever put a game together, let me know. I'd love to join.

I would also join. Indoor/outdoor whatever. But I think the weather means outdoor.. ;-)

I created a couchsurfing activity for this Friday to play football, since people seemed to be interested in playing. Let's meet at the Augarten at 2:30. There is a grassy area in the middle that is quite big and we can play there.

Great Brianna! I appreciate the initiative. But why 1430? :( That's way to early :( For me at least. I am at my institute until 1600 every day. What about moving it to weekend? :D Of course if others agree. Any time Saturday? Are there goals at that field? Or should we go for some hard pitch. Anways ... let's meet for the first time. One thing at the moment :)

I just made it on Friday because I am leaving on Sunday for Amsterdam, and I am working from 4:30-10, so I couldn't make it later...Also, you need lights at night time. Next time we can do it a bit later, but I probably won't be able to play next until after Easter.

Hey guys fear not, we started a group last year to serve this very need. We have been dormant the past few months because we were playing indoors due to the weather and early sunsets. Join this Facebook group and you will be notified whenever we are playing (or you can create your own!)

This is an active group with almost 100 members so if you post a day or two in advance you should get enough players for sure.

From the middle of April I will be organising weekly meet-ups, most likely on Monday evenings. I Look forward to meeting you all!
