Climbing / Bouldering in Vienna
Posted February 18th, 2013 - 11:16 am by from Linz, Austria (Permalink)
Hey guys :)

I'll move to Vienna (Mariahilf) today for about 6 month and I was wondering if somebody goes climbing or bouldering regularly like once or twice a week?

I started with bouldering a month ago in Switzerland and it quickly became my favourite sport :)

Alternatively I'd also go jogging sometime in the evenings ;)

Hi Richard,
If u'r still a student, check the climbing courses with the USI Wien (http://www.univie.ac.at/USI-Wien/index2.htm), prices are rather affordable (at least in comparison to France).
I can't go tmrw but there is the opening of the boulderbar (20. Bezirk, free entrance!)
Next session for me is on Monday evening in theory, at the Bäckerstrasse. See you around perhaps :)

Hey Mathilde,

thank you for the link, I'm still a student so it would be cool, I think I'll take a course :)
Are you also registered in a course?
Cool, I was already once at the Boulderbar and it was great so Tomorrow will be perfect for me ;)
Do you already know at which time you'll go on monday?

Thanks again and have a nice weekend :)

Hi guys!

I just moved in Vienna and would like to start bouldering / climbing again. Did you guys get a course in the end?

I'll try to go to Edelweiss tomorrow evening if someone wants to join!

Cheers,

Yasmina

Hey!

Yes, I'm now in a course every monday evening at the boulderbar, but I was already like after-last-minute :/

If you only want to go bouldering then I can really recommend the boulderbar, but I'm really interested in trying the Edelweiss :)
Actually I already wanted to go there but somehow I couldn't manage it.. So tomorrow I would be in :)

At which time do you plan to start there? If it's after 5 pm it would be perfect for me :)

Cheers,
Richard

Hi guys!

Yes i'll give you some information about edelweiss. I'm a member there so for me it makes sense to go there. But i'm in for trying out boulderbar some time also.

Richard, I'll go at around 8, I am working and I need to go to my place before, sorry... Next time we can plan an earlier meeting if you prefer.

I send you my phone number on mp.

See you tonight!

Hi!

So we were there on thursday, it was really nice!

The place is in the city center and quite big so a lot of different routes... maybe whats not so great is that some grips are quite old which makes it a bit difficult sometime.

Here are the prices options, its quite complicated so just check it out:
http://www.oeav-events.at/dokumente/s_104/v_2/g_2/files/printmedien/EC_Folder2013.pdf

The membership to öav is 40 euros for young people (less than 25, up to 27 if a student).

According to Richard it should be a bit cheaper than Boulderbar if you stay less than 2 hours (here you pay per hour).

Richard and me will go next week also, which days do you prefer?

All the best!

Yasmina
