I can hear my echo here. Just wondering if the group is totally deserted. I have about one more week of school, then looking to get out dancing a bunch more. Anyone up for learning/practicing salsa this summer?

hello Chris,

I highly recommend this salsa lesson here in Oakland at the Lake Merriot

the instructors are great for a reasonable prices.

I´m down for salsa if anyone else is, especially if it´s in the East Bay because I´m out in Walnut Creek.

to jenna - i haven't looked in a while, but i know there were a number of salsa places around walnut creek/concord. let us know what's out there and i'll be happy to drive folks up from the berkeley/oakland area or meet at a bart station for others.

i can't make sunday nights (working), but allegro in emeryville was usually great. thursdays are good, but end around 10 after lessons from 7 - 9. there's a recently-opened place in downtown oakland (caribe, Karibean, something like that, on webster at 14th) that's building up on thursday nights. it doesn't seem like it has a big crowd yet, as more people still head across the bridge to cocomo. and there are the places matt mentioned.

there's also montero's, which i think is thursday - saturday nights.

monday i'll probably hit cocomo and the rockit room if anyone's looking for a ride.

oh yeah, monika, how are the lessons at the down low on wednesdays? i remember a while back the guy used to be disorganized and get mad at the people, while at cocomo, orlando usually teaches interesting stuff but is a very poor teacher and can be a real prick. female friends who aren't young hot superstars say he often won't dance with them and gives them a crap attitude. i do remember great live music there.
