IMPROV & SKETCH Comedy @ English Theatre Berlin Expat Expo

English Theatre Berlin Expat Expo in association with Comedy in English presents an Evening of Improv and Sketch Comedy, Doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 8pm sharp, entry is 5 euros for both shows.

A brand new Sketch comedy play from The Bürger Brigade.

A whimsical journey through today's Berlin told through the eyes of a wide-eyed newcomer via a series of comedic sketches. This comedy show is directed by Matthew Addis and written by Addis,
Niti Dhingra, and Paul Salamone. Performed by members of Berlin's thriving English comedy scene.

The Improv Amt

The Improv Amt formed in the summer of 2012 to administrate Berlin’s long-form improvised comedy scene. In the spirit of our brother and sister agencies, we pride ourselves on passive-aggressively mocking you if you appear at one of our shows without the correct paperwork. Inefficient but orderly, we were trained in the art of absurdity by the Zollamt and in the art of circular-thinking by the Ausländerbehörde. The bureaucrats of the Improv Amt are Andrew, George, Josh, Noah, Pip, Rei, Sean, and Summer.

About the show:
The Improv Amt takes the bore out of bureaucracy. We perform long-form improvised comedy using the “Harold” method – three short scenes are created based off an initial suggestion from the audience and those three scenes are then revisited three times, with the final round typically tying all scenes together. Our shows last 45 - 60 minutes, making them shorter than the wait time at any other Amt in Berlin!

The Improv Amt specializes in using the personals section of the classifieds website Craigslist as the basis for our suggestions (the audience gets to choose the city and type of ad we use). We’ve also been known to invite some of our funny friends on stage to give us an impromptu monologue as a suggestion as well.

Our office hours will take place the evening of Friday, February 22nd, so don't miss this opportunity to get your funny-bone rubberstamped. We won’t make you take a number, but we will make you laugh.
