You know that Görlitzer Park as one of Berlin's most popular
parks is heavily overused and though it's totally clear why so many
people love to spent their time in the park this park-use is obviously
One of the main problems probably is the garbage left all over the
place resembling a kind of unresponsible and disrespecting attitude
towards this community space.
Yet what to do?
The Kiezinitiative "Obstbäume für den Görli" (community project
"Fruit trees for Görlitzer Park") is planting fruit trees in Görlitzer
Park trying to bring back some sense of community to this beloved urban
And the next fruit trees are being planted next Saturday.
Want to give a hand?
Show up at the office place of the initiative (Ratiborstr. 9) on
Saturday 9:30 am to help carrying everything that is needed to the park
and then - as of 10 pm - the trees are planted and you can help.
There'll be also coffee and homemade cake - if you want to bring
something please feel free to do so.
I'll be at the community office, which is called "Weltraum" as of 9:30 am.
