I'll tell you straight ahead: I hate "politics". Mind the quote signs, because I also agree with you: Politics is a game we can't avoid, because of the power it holds. However, talking about politics is pointless.

Why?

Because it will never ever be constructive or solve anything.Human nature is really simple when there are conficting ideas between two groups of people : "You're either against me or with me". When people discuss politics, they're not asking the other person to enlighten them, they're looking for the other to validate their beliefs OR destroy the other opponent's beliefs. There is no middle ground at all.

Yes, it does. Notice how you change "Ideas", it could be also about beers or cars or if "1/3 = 0.3333..". It just that nobody cares enough about some things to get a heated discussion about something. Politics just usually brings the worst of many intelligent people.
