One more thing. You only want to meet and make female friends or you also want to get to know locals whatever their genders?
I am not into going out all night drinking but spend a lot of time at cinema, don't mind museums and (re)discovering new parts of Paris and its surroundings.

hi Nabhan,

in fact,I wrote prefer meeting female friends in order to avoid messages from some guys who thinks of other things other than just make friends.

Except that, I just want to meet nice person whatever their gender :)

Hey everyone!

I've been in Paris for 3 months now to do my final study internship and I have to admit that I'm still discovering the city!!!

I heard there was an expo at "Cité de la Musique" on Music in Movies (I sooo wanted to go there but i'd gladly go with people interested too ;) )
I'm a big fan of movies and love to talk to people from different places around the world!

Oh and by the way, I'm French, I hate taking the subway, I love "pains au chocolat" but I'm not a big fan of "croissants", I never go on strike, I love to travel but I'm scared of taking the plane... Anyway, if you want to meet somewhere in the week-end or during the week (from 19:00 though... I'm working before that...), please feel free to contact me ;)

@Hélène, welcome to the conversation.
I was away in England for my studies and work experiences the past 7 years and came back last summer. It feels like Paris has changed quite a bit. Maybe just my way of thinking is different from back then. I definitely need to reconnect with my home city. So, I would be honoured to accompany you on your discovery.
The exposition on music and cinema is on until August 18th. I am up for it. I hanged out a lot around the cité de la musique to study at the library but never been inside in nearly 20 years living 3 subway stations away from it.

@Eva, I guess most people would say that they are a good person. I am not sure there is a point to say that I am a good person but now that Hélène joined the conversation, we could meet all three of us together with anyone who want to join or somewhere of your choice to put your mind at-ease.

@Eva and Hélène, I am usually around Chatelet-les-Halles area watching movies at the UGC cinema on my spare time because I have an unlimited pass for it. My pass works in UGC, MK2 and many independant cinemas in Paris.
UGC Bercy and UGC Gobelins got nice prices for under 26 years old people. Cinema tickets cost 4,90€ Week days/5,90€ Week end at Bercy (the biggest cinema in Paris I heard) but 4,50€ all the time at Gobelins with less movie choices.
If you want to meet up or want some more informations or tips, feel free to contact me in this thread or in private message.

@Hélène, there is the new Almodovar, "les amants passagers". I think "blancanieves" is still showing in independant cinemas.

@Eva, I never been to François Mitterrand library but I go the George Pompidou Centre and I would suggest that you stop by the Shakespeare & Co. bookshop. It is near Notre Dame and open on Sundays until very late. It is a nice place to read and you might even hear someone playing piano or you can play for free if you are any good at it. :)

Take care, both of you.

Hello Hélène and Nabhan,

I just searched the exposition about music and cinema and I think it's quite an interesting suject! We can go and see it together, maybe next weekend? I finish working at about 18h from Monday to Friday :)

I like also cinema and watch a lot of films. Maybe I don't know westen films as well as you two :) but I'd like to discover more about them with your company!

Have a nice day!

Eva

Hi,
It will have to be on Saturday as I am not free on Sundays until about 4pm.
I am sure we can manage a time that is convenient for all of us.

I do like Asian movies when they don't try to copy action packed American movies. For me, I sometimes prefer a movie with an excellent plot and make you think at the end: "what would I have done if it had happened the same thing to me?"

This coming Tuesday, i'll go to a pizza night which starts at 19h30 near Invalides / Alma Marceau. Message me in private if you are interested.

Have a good Sunday. :)

Hi everyone

To briefly introduce myself - I am a 25 year old finance professional from India working in Paris on an expat mission with Alstom (for those who don't know, a big French MNC). I arrived here in August last year. I love movies and theatre besides other things.

Most of th threads in here are all about speed dating. You guys seem to have got th concept of 'hanging out' right! Let me know if I can join you for a movie or something.

Cheers!
Shubham

Helene

I am actually going for Side Effects with a friend of mine (22 year old girl from Venezuela studying languages in Paris) this Wednesday evening at UGC montparnasse. You can join us if you like. Anyone else too for that matter!
