favorite place, Shinjuku (shinjuku was the place in the 80's.... One day, found this little street that is not really easy to find... and open me a real
vision about maybee, the last place in Tokyo where you will find a little taste of Tokyo before the war.
After you sense (yakitori smoke...) have guide you in the right direction... I was amaze by the intense activity of numerous small yakitori bars. It was just heaven for me. Soon as you find a place... your first word is really
"beru o kudasai...." and then you go, chatting with salary men, serving beer and just have fun of discover the best yakitori of your life, but better, have a feeling of about what is to taste snack food with such a dynamic
When I come back, my first step in tokyo is always to go at shomben yokocho and get back with my salary men friends, drinking beer and feel really like home...
Try at leas once in your life this small street before it will disapears...
