Montreal area - Weekend Wariors Wanted - canoe, swim lakes, bike, ski . . .

[Je parle francais aussi mais c'est plus facile d'ecrire en anglais.]

OK, I have a canoe that takes two or three people, (four if they're lightweights), a bunch of camping gear (later), and a Honda.

I also have a collection of bikes, some of which work and several of which can be put back together if anyone wants to spend a little time helping on the job.

For winter I have a very large collection of skis and boots plus two snowboards that I'd like to learn to use. Plus the Honda.

It's not nearly as much fun to go do these things by yourself, so I'm looking for people who would be interested in joining me for an afternoon, a day, or maybe later a camping trip.
I provide transportation, a lot of equipment, and company.
You provide your company, your own lunch -- and for longer trips a donation towards the gas helps a lot.
-- Just as a side note, we've had both good luck and bad with couchsurfers. The goal is company and fun and meeting new people, so be prepared to meet and talk to someone who may be quite a bit different.

Level of difficulty: Please do NOT judge a book by its cover. I canoed Lac La Verendrye in high winds with waves well over the canoe height (and got the wimpy guy back to shore safely), and on a good day I cruise the black diamonds at Mont Tremblant; yesterday biked Westmount to Old Port to Ile Sainte Helene and back, at a moderate speed -- distance is fine but not big on mountains :-( Looking for people ready to face up to nature and sports, the real thing.
On the other hand, this is for fun, weekend warrioring; we avoid heading out in stormy weather and don't go deliberately risking our lives.
I figure I'm taking it light but a lot of people get scared off, so say a five or six on a scale of one to ten, where one is a city park in summer and ten is winter rock climbing.
:-)

If you're interested, send a message and we can share contacts.
I'm available for an afternoon or a day most weekends.

Hi -

I'm in montreal for a week or so, and am keen to get out into the country and do a bit of bike riding/hiking/canoeing. I am not extremely hardcore, and not terribly fit at the moment, but grew up on a farm and love getting into the country. I love swimming.

Im a 23 yo australian student, traveling a bit before i start college in california.

Anyhoo - Give send me a message if you've got any plans coming up in the next week, i'd love to join in!

Thanks

Maggie.

Hey - I'm 23, Danish, really love outdoor activities and particularly skiing (I telemark). I'd be into stuff like that. I'm at McGill studying Biology September through May. So let's meet up sometime. Also, I think perhaps my lodging arrangements are falling apart a bit - would you know someone looking for a lodger / roommate? I don't smoke.
