My friend and I will stay on Crab Hostel. It's located on Ipanema Beach. The hostel is simple but the localization is perfect! One of the best beaches and close to everything. The price is good.

I have been trying to organize accommodation for the last week, its driving me crazy! what i have done is gather a little group (6 people) and i am currently trying to find somewhere reasonable on airbnb.com. It is not easy though!

Posted January 8th, 2013 - 9:37 pm by from Santiago, Chile (Permalink)
hope you're all aussies!
It's more difficult when the people you are gathering come from different countries.
(I wanted to do the same as u some months ago but it was really difficult since it was a pain in the ass trying to convince people from other countries which option was the best) So finally I ended up booking a room in an apartment along one friend (from Chile) in airbnb.com

Wish you the best!

We booked at Motel Caricia, it is way out of town, but accessible by public transportation. And for the price for 4 nights in a private double room en suite, we paid less than one night in a dorm.

We would like to rent a car from Rio to Sao Paulo from the 14th to whenever. Anyone else interested in a road trip after carnival?!!

Hi everyone! Beleza!!

Me and my best friend are comming to the carnaval and staying until the 13 in Rio. I just saw the appartement that Gabriela just shared (Thank you buy the way!) and we are open to share it with 2 more people!

we are really easygoing persons and ready to party 24/7 during the carnaval so if you want to join us and enjoy my friend's knowledge of where to party during carnaval (he already came there 2 times) dont hesitate to join us!

Of course if anyone has another idea let me know!we are up for anything!

cheers,
Nebill

If u still havent found anything, maybe u like that:

I want to share an apartment in Lapa (Partyzone :D). I need 3 more people to get the price of 500R/night (40US $) for the period between the 7th and 13th of february. The apartment has 2 rooms with ac and is completly new. So you wouls share it with another person. Much better than a hostel and much cheaper. As well the breakfast is already incluided. Feel free to get in contact with me or invite some friends too.
Vamooos festejar no Rio.
Abracoo Jochen
