Just moved to Paris and looking for things to get involved with

Bonjour alternative Paris group!

I am speaking for a friend and myself - we have just moved to Paris from England (my friend can speak French, I'm only learning), and we'd really like to get involved with some interesting projects in the city. I've tried to find the Paris food not bombs but their website says it's pausing for the time being. Can anyone point us in the right direction?

In terms of dumpster diving - we pick up many glorious vegetables left at the end of markets but haven't yet been successful in supermarket bins. I was wondering if dumspter diving exists in Paris, does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Any tips for anything 'alternative' in Paris would be great. Thank you for the creation of this interesting group, I hope it leads us somewhere that obvious Paris doesn't!

Beth :)
