Hey

The Goth scene in Berlin is quite a bit bigger than olde Brisbane! Not that i am a Goth but i goto some nights from time to time. K17 of course is the standard club that is on weekly. Also there is a lot of wave/80s/synth nights going on at different times of the month.

As for the rock/punk/metal/etc scene in general Berlin is quite good. Lots of bars and places to hang out so you will have a blast! Remind me closer to the date and its most likely that i will be free some of those days!

Tim Tam's hell yeah!

Hey J.,

I've been in Berlin for about 2 months now and there's only one nice rock bar that I found (in Prenzlauer Berg). Could you share some names of rock bars? :)

Suz, send another message when the days draw near :)

Best,

Hey

Rock bars in PBerg? Or general Berlin?

Prenzlauerberg actually has some cool places hidden away. I have not been to all of them but some i can think of.. Mammut Bar, Duncker, Bad Fish, Crossroads, Gun Club, Baiz, Bassy, White Trash, Last Cathedral, 8mm, Roadrunners.

Metaltravelguide.com is good although lots of places aren't listed on it. I could list others in Berlin if you like?

Oh cool cool! :) I'll look them up!

If you have some others in Berlin in general that would also be great!

Ok so i will just list everything i know. Not all of them are going to be places that you can rock up and expect to hear AC/DC. However they aren't places you will hear minimalist electro. Just anywhere i can think of that i've been to hang out or see a band play.

Freidrichshain
Feuermelder (pretty much my favourite in the Boxhaganer Platz area. You could here something like the Hives one night and then the next might be some Grindcore so its good for variety), Paules Metal Eck, Halford, Wilde 13, Brettebude, Lebowski (yeah themed after the movie, but never seen it busy), Jägerklause (also has gigs), Artliners (never been but they have bands), Panzerknacker, Rockz, Wiking Bar, Brutz & Brakel, Blackland, K17, Fischladen, Abstand - plus heaps of other punk places on Rigaer Str. Also i think it is the sister bar to Rockz opposite Fischladen. Abgedreht (more like a restaurant but can still just go for beers), Lovelite, Cassiopeia, Tiefgrund.

Kreuzberg
Trinkteufel, Franken, Misfit, Milchbar, Rock & Roll Herberge, Auster Club, Wild At Heart, Tiki Heart, Travolta, Madonna, Bar 13, Jail, Wowsville, SO36, Monarch, Bull Bar, Trickster, Magnet, Köpi.

Neukölln
Sux, Ä, Weser 56, Syndikat.

Mitte/Prenzlauerberg
Ramones Museum, Baiz, Mammut Bar, Duncker, Bad Fish, Crossroads, Gun Club, Baiz, Bassy, White Trash, Last Cathedral, 8mm, Roadrunner, KVU, Kastanienkeller, Dazzle (Best metal night in Berlin is there once a month "Kill Em All"), Subversiv, Tarantino Bar (Haven't been yet).

Ok i've most likely forgotten a bunch of places, but thats a start!
