Thanks for posting that info, Steven.

Yes, I'll be performing with my team, People's Liberation Improv, in the show on Friday March 1 at 9pm (and in at least one show next week too - schedule still to be confirmed).

All the shows in the festival are in English, and will feature lots of comedy improvisation scenes/games, made up on the spot and based on suggestions from the audience (if you've seen the TV or stage show "Whose Line is it Anyway?", you'll know what I mean). It's not a competition.

My understanding is that the "improv jam" sessions on March 3 and 10 are not open for just anybody/everybody to walk in off the street and perform in - the performers will be members of all the teams that are participating in the festival. Those players will be mixed-and-matched with players they've never performed with before, creating new teams that will perform at short notice. (But hey, if you're an experienced improv performer visiting Hong Kong, come and say hello and we might be able to include you in a team for one of the jam sessions.) And of course we need fabulous audiences to offer their suggestions for those shows!

Most convenient MTR station: Central (Exit D1 or D2). Walk west along Queen's Road Central to the Mid-Levels escalator. Go up the escalator to Elgin Street (between Hollywood Road and Caine Road), turn right, and the club is just a few doors down on your right. It's about a 10-minute walk from the MTR station. See http://www.takeoutcomedy.com

Note: The venue is not a restaurant or a bar, but you can bring your own drinks (and if you want cups/glasses or a bottle opener, you'll need to bring your own). There's a 7-11 nearby.

Oops, correction: the show including my team, People's Liberation Improv (plus a team from Shanghai and a team from Taiwan), on Friday March 1 will start at 8pm not 9pm. There will be another show that night, with other teams, starting at 10pm.

And there will be two public improv workshops during the festival, open to any interested people (you don't have to be an experienced improv performer or a member of one of the teams performing in the festival). The workshops (in English) are on Saturday March 2, 2pm-6pm, and Sunday March 3, 2pm-5pm, at the TakeOut Comedy Club. Advance registration essential. For details, see
