Improv Festival, March 7-10
Posted March 7th, 2013 - 3:52 am by from Hong Kong Island, China (Permalink)
The Hong Kong International Improv Festival continues from March 7 to 10. (Last weekend's shows were great!)

When: March 7-9 at 9pm; March 10 improv jam session at 6pm.
Where: The TakeOut Comedy Club, basement of 34 Elgin Street, SoHo (very close to the Mid-Levels escalator). From Central MTR exit D1 or D2, walk west along Queen's Road Central to the Mid-levels escalator. Walk up the escalator to Elgin Street (it's between Hollywood Road and Caine Road). Turn right. The Club is just a few doors down, on your right. It's about a 10-minute walk from the MTR. See http://www.takeoutcomedy.com
Language: English
Who for: Adults (not suitable for children)
How Much: HK$150 per person per show
Reservations and Enquiries: Contact Mr Jami Gong: 6220 4436 or jami@takeoutcomedy.com then pay cash at the door. (You don't absolutely have to book in advance - just come on the night and get tickets at the door 15 minutes before showtime.)

All the shows in the festival are in English, and will feature lots of comedy improvisation scenes/games/long form shows, made up on the spot and based on suggestions from the audience (if you've seen the TV or stage show "Whose Line is it Anyway?", you'll know what I mean). It's not a competition.

Note: The venue is not a restaurant or a bar, but you can bring your own drinks (if you want cups/glasses or a bottle opener, you'll need to bring your own). There's a 7-11 nearby.

I'll be performing with my team, People's Liberation Improv, in the shows on Thursday March 7 and Saturday March 9 at 9pm, and we'll all be playing in mix-and-match teams in the jam session on Sunday March 10 at 6pm. Come and say hello.

By the way, just to be clear, this is not a commercial message. I am not the owner or an employee of the TakeOut Comedy Club, and I don't get paid to perform in or to promote the shows there. I'm simply a member of PLI and performing is my hobby.
