Sunday, March 24 | Dragon's Back Hike
Posted March 19th, 2013 - 7:56 am by from Leuven, Belgium (Permalink)
Dear CS friends of planet earth,
I hope all is well!

Have you ever wondered how Hong Kong looks like when you go off ‘the beaten path’?
Did you ever say to yourself: “If I could, then I would definitely like to try the Best Urban Trail in Asia, according to Time Magazine”?

Well, I for one, have. Therefore, let’s make this happen!

*What? A three hour hiking trip on Dragon’s Back, an impressive and beautiful trail.
*When? Sunday, March 24, 1.30pm. The weather forecast is sunny.
*Where? We gather 1.30pm at MTR Shau Kei Wan, exit A3. From thereon it’s a short bus ride towards the start of the trail, located at Shek O Road.
*Info? All you want to know about this amazing trip can be found here: http://www.discoverhongkong.com/eng/see-do/great-outdoors/hikes/dragons-back-hiking-tour.jsp

You don’t need to be an experienced hiker or marathon runner to participate in this activity. Just bring comfy shoes and plenty of water. Good fun and meeting new people is what matters!

Please add your name to the list below (copy paste) if you will join us on this epic quest!

Cheers,
Tijs

[UPDATE]

Dear friends,
Due to the (unfavorable) weather forecast, we will communicate a final decision regarding the Dragon's Back hike, tomorrow (Saturday) at 7pm.

As safety comes first, it might not be the smartest idea to go hiking on a slippery and foggy mountain.

If the hiking trip should be canceled, we will suggest another indoor activity and you can choose to participate accordingly.

But for now, let's keep our fingers crossed foor a good old sunny Sunday!

Cheers,
Tijs

Good idea! Keeping my fingers crossed for the hike, but I will be up for any indoor activity if the weather wouldn't allow us to go :)

Any suggestions for indoor activities in case we cannot hike on Sunday?:D

Thunderbirds are go!

After consulting a plethora of weather forecast websites, we decided to confirm the Dragon's Back Hike for tomorrow!

As such, we look forward to meeting all of you at 1.30pm at MTR Shau Kei Wan, exit A3.

Don't forget to put on comfy shoes, bring plenty of water and a light snack :-)

All the best,
Tijs

It will probably clear up during the afternoon like it did yesterday though :)

i wd like to join too. but the sky's turning dark.
and the forecast says 'Cloudy with a few showers. Isolated squally thunderstorms in the afternoon'
will keep update of the weather.

I think we don't need to be too afraid, a dark sky doesn't predict rain necessarily (The highest probability according to forecast is 20% around 5pm). And the trail is one of the easier.
