Picnic and hiking in the Grass Island next Sunday (14/4)
Posted April 6th, 2013 - 6:08 am by from Kowloon East, China (Permalink)
Hi everyone,

The weather has been pretty bad since last week... but hopefully, it seems that the weather will be better next weekend!! :D Let's do picnic and hiking in the Grass Island!

Grass Island (Tap Mun) has a big piece of green grass which face directly in front of the sea. It would be great to prepare picnic food and share them together!! I will prepare the picnic mat as well. In order to find the time suits us the best, I have the following plan:

Meet up: 10am inside Diamond Hill mtr station (exit C)
--> take bus 96R from Diamond Hill to Wong shek Pier
--> take the ferry at 11:30am to Grass Island
--> arrive Grass Island at around 12nn

We will leave the pier at around 5pm.

Here is the link of the Grass Island:

It would be great to enjoy the sun together with the beautiful sea :]

Cheers,
Fonnie

I'm glad that many of you are interested:D
It would be great if you could share your picnic recipes with us:D I will prepare some sushi as well:) in order to make sure we have enough food and water, we can go to the super market next to the bus station after we meet up.

The hiking part is very easy, wearing normal sport shoes would be fine.

P.S.
If you have kites, guitars, any portable music instruments... (Perfect match with picnic).. XD ... Please feel free to being along. Looking forward!!

Cheers,
Fonnie

I will have four Fds coming now, so total 5 ppl. Just curious, if it rains pretty bad, will we change our plan?

Hi,

I'm glad that your friends are interested too. There is a shelther spot next to the grass area. So in case there is a shower suddenly, we will have a place to stay in. Besides, the hiking trail is flat and quite short. Therefore, I believe it will be safe to walk around even there's a bit of rain :D

Reminder:
(1) Bring enough water
(2) Umbrella
(3) Picnic mat, in case you have (I'm afraid mine won't be big enough for all of us XD )
(4) Food: ham/ cheeze/ bread/ fruit... anything you wanna share
(5) wear sport shoes
(6)around $50 cash for the total transportation fee

**In case you forgot to buy anything, we can go to 7-11 next to the bus station. The supermarket i mentioned previously is quite far away from the bus station. It will be easier to go to 7-11 nearby ;]

Cheers,
Fonnie

Hi Ellen,

I don't think there's a deposit center in wong Shek pier. Um... But I know there's lockers to store stuff in festival walk (near entrance of broadway, next to female toilet). But I'm not sure they are big enough to hold your suitcase:(
