Hey folks

I hear there is a route between malealea to Semonkong but can't find any info about it...does anyone know how long it takes? where do you sleep along the road? how difficult is it? is it possible to arrange a guide in Semonkong or Malealea?

cheers- Meirav :)

Hi Meirav,

You can do it, it is not so hard, and it can take two to three days. I did it almost two years ago, so I do not remeber all details, I just no it was quite easy. I think the highest point to overcome is something around 3000 meters, so you must be fit. You can sleep in the villages with locals. I had a guide I hired in Malealea lodge, I do not remember how much I did paid. This guide was good in showing the way, showing the place to stay overnight ect. I was travelling solo, so for me it was better to have a guide, I know some people did it without. There is not possibility to get any food on the road (at least at the time I have been there) so make sure you have enough to eat for three days and also if you are hirig a guide check with him if he is expecting you to provide him the food. Good luck!
