hi! i believe it when i see it :p if the weather will be allright we can start in direction Esztergom thru the mountains (Dobogokő) for example. The views are amazing and fun to ride. no highways ;) i met last season with some hungarian riders from another forum. they showed me around.

Cheers, André

Time to get serious. Spring finally is booting up. Weather report for the weekend looks decent (15-19 degrees depending on weather report)!

Who is in ?

Possible route :

http://goo.gl/maps/1T5ZE

- Budapest Nyugati Railwaystation / Biker meeting point
- Dobogókő
- Esztergom
- Szentendre
- Budapest Oktogon

about 120km

I can say you will see some stunning scenery. At Dobogókő there is a restaurant and big meeting point and lookout. I went there last year often and its very popular.

If you want to have a shorter tour we can return after Dobogókő. If you want to have a longer tour we can go over the boarder to Slovakia... or any other suggestions or completely different tour welcome just lets bike :))

If you can't make it lets rather try ride on Saturday. I might also need to be at home tomorrow but also not sure yet.

What about this route for a upcoming weekend day, its a bit long so a full days riding:

Hey guys, wednesday ill spend with my girlfriend but saturday might be an option.

There is also a tour organized by Kawasaki Hungary:

http://www.kawasaki.hu/News/Details/3408733B55B
http://goo.gl/maps/3YYmx

Main meeting point is actually in Veszprém but the Budapest riders will gather already in Budapest. Destination is Bakony area. I dont know the exact route so the gmaps is just a rough idea what it will look like. I joined one of these tours last year and was fun too cruise around in a big convoy :D

You need to register but its free and nobody will control it anyway so its just a 'cosmetic' thing... They even say they welcome non Kawasakis as well so... : )

Posted April 30th, 2013 - 4:49 pm by from Budapest, Hungary (Permalink)
unfortunately wednesday is out for me :(

Posted April 30th, 2013 - 7:48 pm by from Budapest, Hungary (Permalink)
It looks like I cannot make it either, sorry guys, lets plan for Saturday I think. Cheers.

Weather report looks mixed. One site says rain the other one not... Im thinking of just riding to Hungaroring and watch the WTCC race and see what happens...

Im interested in this trip to Hortobágy, especially since in the Csárda they have a super delicious grey cattle/buffalo steak :D but maybe i should get a touring bike for that trip XD

Posted May 2nd, 2013 - 7:54 am by from Budapest, Hungary (Permalink)
Hi Andre, weather should be OK I think. Yeah for the longer trip your knees might act up again as it quite a time consuming ride to Hortobagy. Time for a second bike I guess!!!

I am interested in the WTCC, do you have more details like a web site with the days schedule for the event, what is the cost involved, if to high would rather ride the petrol out of my bike. cheers.

Hi Hano!

WTCC Schedule:

http://www.hungaroring.hu/?id=9&sub_id=3&lang=en

Prices:

http://www.hungaroring.hu/?id=9&sub_id=0&lang=en

I might do the Hortobágy route on Saturday, if weather is so warm I don't mind rain. I could go to Tokaj from the furthermost point and see if I would like to spend a night there :)
Can you tell me more about Csárda, where exactly can I get this steak? :)
Does anybody know a nice place to stay in Tokaj, e.g. with Live music, wines etc? :)

Posted May 2nd, 2013 - 11:11 am by from Strasbourg, France (Permalink)
I might do it somehow like this: http://goo.gl/maps/W9nBB

Been there several years ago.

Hi Andre, I dont mind going to watch a bit of qualifying on Saturday, as long as it is in the shade. Cheers.
