I can't quite make out if these are volunteer or paid positions but Workopolis has the goods. Deadlines are fast approaching, too.

Roberto, I absolutely know that you will NOT have to come to Vancouver for an interview! A Mexican friend of mine, who is currently here in Vancouver improving her English, applied and then called them to find out about her status. She asked if she should be ready to come in for an interview before she heads home but they told her that all interviews are conducted over the phone.

So if I were you, I'd apply and then see what happens.

Roberto,

as Robert said, you don't need to go to Canada for your interview, but you should apply as a volunteer as fast as possible.

If you can't have a deal with your boss to get you some vacation days, than you just need to call them and say you're not avaiable anymore.

But hurry up!

Going crazy over here... I applied this summer for a volunteer job, but still, my status in 'under review'... I know that I wanna go to Vancouver again, but I need to know soon if I can help or not and to book my flight I need to know when I have to be there and... I need an accommodation... how long did it take with you guys to know if you're in or not...!??

Sabrina, I'm in the same situation. I applied on the very same day they started receiving online applications. What worsens things is that my family is planning a trip to Europe to visit my brother living in Ireland, and I can't have two months of vacation, it's either the Olympics in February or Europe in April. My priority is the Olympics, but if I'm not called by mid-November I think I'll give up and start making plans with my family...

All the best from Brazil

Hey guys,

I'll be volunteering at the Pacific Coliseum (ice skating) during the Games and I'm working for VANOC until December. I would advise you to call the Volunteer hotline to ask about the status of your applications (unless you've already done so). I don't want to post it here, but you can probably find it on the volunteer website. If not, let me know and I can email you the number. Good luck!

I'm really happy for you, wish I can do it too. Well they said they can't help me on the phone about my status.. it's a pitty... I have to wait and hope, because they still give positions in December...
