drum circle western ma

So in Montreal every Sunday there is a giant drum circle called tam-tams. It consists of a group of drummers, people dancing, and is generally a wonderful community event that brings people together :

I was wondering if anyone knew of anything similar that happens in this area? Though obviously on a smaller scale.

If not, I'm thinking of getting something like this started. If anyone is interested in participating / knows other who would / has suggestions on where this could take place, would love to hear thoughts.

I <3 tam tam!

The closest thing I know of in the valley happens on the first friday of every month, at Munson Memorial Library, in South Amherst. It starts at 8pm - 12am. It's indoors, but still it's pretty fun, there are 20-30 drummers usually, Suggested donation $5-10

Also this Saturday, in Greenfield, at the Community Yoga & Wellness center there's a Mandala Dance, drum circle. I think this happens at the end of every month. $5-8 (?) I can't find information on it right now, but I assume it's around 8.

Maybe see you there!

There was world music being played from speakers and a laptop, there was some drumming but not a whole lot :< there was singing and chanting and a collaborative sand mandala.

The south amherst gathering, doesn't meet up during the summer, maybe you could get a tam tam in one of parks here, would be very cool.

Ah that sounds unfortunately disappointing. It's not the best time of the year for starting anything of the sorts, but I'll keep my eyes out for good locations in the area for warmer seasons. I'm sure permit laws are stricter here, but I bet there is a way to bypass them.
