Tastemakers is proud to Present…Titus Andronicus and The Dodos with Javelin, October 1st, 5:00pm in Centennial Common for FREE.

Titus Andronicus is the next big thing from New Jersey. The indie-punk rock band takes its name from the Shakespearean tragedy and are self-proclaimed “born to die.” The sophomore release of The Monitor in March 2010 brought the band wider exposure as Rolling Stone called them “one of the seven best bands of 2010.” No Ripcord reviewed the album as one that “will grip the listener, carry them along on a tide of spit and blood and youthful agression, and leave them dazed and exhausted at the end, with no other option but to start the album all over again.”

The Dodos, an indie-rock duo from San Francisco, is composed of Meric Long, originally a singer-songwriter, and Logan Kroeber. They’ve released four albums since their start in 2005, the most recent being No Color in March 2011. Their breakthrough album was definitely Visiter, released March 2008. Pitchfork deemed the LP as “Best New Music”, calling their live sets “astounding.”

Javelin is “a hip-hop and electro production duo” from Brooklyn. They also grabbed Pitchfork’s attention, dubbing Javelin as a rising band after their LP Jamz n Jemz. The New York Times called them “a quirky electro outfit with heavy 1980s and ’90s R&B influences, it’s one of the most thoughtful, and promising, young bands of the last couple of years.”
