Artistic get together in PL tonight for supporting the cause of keeping Mauritius beautiful
Tonight from 7pm, people are invited to come together at the 'Jardain la compaignie' to share and make their voices heard through art, song, dance (whatever tickles your fancy really). The color code is green, it is free and it is being organised by "Say NO to coal, YES to Clean energy" community.
Today is the 12th day, Jeff is doing a hunger strike for the cause. The CT Power Coal plant received a green light from Ministry of Environment, and is planned to be built in Albion coast near urban settlement - directly endangering lifes of humans and marine world. This
is the request sent to the Prime Minister's office. More than saying no to coal (the sound strategy the rest of the world seems to be getting on board of too) this cause is about citizens of Mauritius requesting for their government to put in place Renewable Energy policy and to include the wider society in its decision making. This cause is about democracy, sustainability and positive vision for Mauritius.
And of course, it is a wonderfull chance to see the "real" Mauritius - with all its
struggles and issues, but also very inspiring, driven and talented citizens (tonight you will get to see some kick ass live performance :)
This is the facebook event:
Hope to see you there! :)
