Looking to team up with 2-3 people and rent a nice place
Posted August 20th, 2013 - 6:22 pm by from North Vancouver, Canada (Permalink)
Hi all,

I'm looking to get a place in Vancouver. My ideal place is anywhere that is less than a 5 min walk to a skytrain station.

I've found it's much easier to get a group of people together and rent a place outright instead of searching for individual rooms. So I would like to get a group of 3-4 people together so we can live in a nice area but pay no more than $600/month each. If someone wants to pay more, they can get the bigger rooms, etc... we can work out the details once meet and figure out if we get along.

Bit about me: I'm a 25-yo software developer, working on starting my own business, so I don't expect to spend much time home outside weekends. I like to read when I get a chance and occasionally drink. In a past life, I lived in Australia for a year, travelled to Germany, Japan, China and Thailand. I've lived with roommates for a total of 1.5 years and can pretty well get along with most people.

Cheers,
Hirad

Were any of you able to find a place? I'm also looking for a new place to start in October.

OK. I'm looking at places right now. If I find a two or three bedroom place for the right price I will get in touch with you. Please do the same with your search!

Hi Marlene & Clemens, and all,

Me and my girlfriend are also coming to Vancouver on 25th Sept. We would like to start in hostel for one - two weeks and looking for some shared house / flat than localy around the Downtown..

We are also interested in winter sports and outdoor activities. We have one year working visa so we plan to stay for 10 months minimal (then do a little bit of traveling)

If there is anybody who d like to share one room with a couple from slovakia (27 and 28 years old) just send me a message.

Thanks

Hi Hirad, me and my friend Cristian are looking for a place too...we are both 23 years old chileans, and we arrived to Vancouver on september 3rd... until now we are living in north vancouver, but we are looking for a place closer to downtown or other central areas, as you said, near to a skytrain station is very good for us...well, let me know if you have any new, and viceversa...cheers!

Hi Hirad! I just visited this forum to do the same thing! :) looking for a place in downtown or close to the skytrain in the same price range as you. It means around 600/month. Actually found some interesting apartments already, including my old building where I lived for over a year, 2bdr place, right by the marina and the Olympic Village sky train,
it costs 1550 a month.
If someone would be interested let me know.
I'm pretty flexible so if you have another idea, please let me know.
I'm interested in moving in on the 1st of October.

Kamil :)

Hi, I will be moving to vancouver tomorrow. Looking for a place in that price range also. Is that place furnished? I don't have any

Hi Renee! No, it comes unfurnished, it's actually quite hard to find something furnished in downtown. But definitely I would prefer as well :)

Just so you know guys. I just called the manager of that building and he told me that he just rented it out.
Anyway, I'll keep looking and if someone is interested in renting something together, let me know.

Kamil :)
