Lizelby's NY Tour Extravaganza!
A good friend of mine told me that you haven't really experienced NY until you've lived in every burrough.
Being a Midwesterner (The first time I heard the word "burrough" in passing was last year. Sad, but true.), having only visited the touristy areas of Manhattan in the only 3 times I've been out East, and since I plan on relocating to NY (just for kicks, and school in the spring), I thought that it would be absolutely fantabulous to explore every burrough of NY! That way, I can make a truly educated decision on where in the urban jungle of NY I feel I should finally settle myself in.
What I'm hoping for is a host for one week in the Bronx, Queens, and Brooklyn (I'm excluding Manhattan, although crazily enough I think it'd be interesting to be in Harlem...) and if it's possible - and more than likely essential - multiple parts of each burrough. You don't necessarily need to be around during the day since I kinda wanna explore the area on my own, but I'm more than willing to stay up all night talking about the city, work, people, etc. While it would be nice, I can't go out and have a crazy time at the clubs with you since I'm not 21.
But this project isn't about having crazy times. I'm hoping it's a life-altering experience.
Over the summer, I'll be a camp counselor at Trailblazers (www.trailblazers.org) from June 13 to August 27. I'll be in NY by the evening of the 27. Right now I just wanna see if anyone wants to plan this little adventure of mine.
I'm also thinking that once I move, we make this a continuous project for anyone else thinking of moving to NY but are unsure of where to live or if they really want to live in NY.
But I get ahead of myself. For now this is just an idea and I just wanted to see if anyone wanted to participate :). So join and send me a message, and hopefully this will work out!
Have a wonderful week!
