I am heading down to DC to work a contract with the Washington National Opera and I am hoping to find a subletter for my room in NYC starting august 1st or 15th through at least mid October, dates are flexible. It's $650 a month. Comes with a queen bed, big desk, dresser, and armoire.
My apartment is in Bushwick, 3 blocks from the Myrtle Broadway stop on the JMZ or 13 minutes from the morgan stop on the L line. It's a house with 2 apartments, ours has 4 beds 2 baths, a backyard, and my room opens on to the balcony. We have window unit AC. The hood is pretty good- it's a mess as much of Brooklyn is especially with above ground trains, but I have always felt safe and there are great coffee shops and bars, grocery stores, and lots of young artists. Our street is pretty quiet and a mix of families who've been here for a while and younger folks. Street parking is usually available.
The other housemates are a couple- Will is finishing law school and his gf Rafa is starting college here. She's from brazil and we found her on CS last summer! There's also Lauren who works at the camera shop Adorama and Christine who works for the fashion brand Chado Ralph Rucci doing patterns and construction.
I'd love to find a subletter who's happy to have a place in NYC. The girls get up for work early and drink in the backyard with the guys in the downstairs apartment. I've really enjoyed living here for the last 2 years!
can i rent it for ten days starting from august 15th?
hence pay for half a month?
i promise il be a great tenant, im clean organized, and i wont be much in the apt.
im in NY for the first time., and i prefer a local experience rather than a hotel etc.

I was wondering if you were still sub-letting the room? I'd like to find out more, ideally I'd like to find a place from roughly September 15th to mid October, perhaps start a little earlier. I'm a writer and editor, work from home, and live in Virginia, but am currently just looking to spend some time in NYC before winter as I may be relocating there permanently in the next few months. (By the way, I'm new to this whole CS thing, so if I've missed something forgive me! :) )
Let me know, and if it is available still, can you let me know what dates are still up for grabs and where I can see some pics? Thanks in advance!
Hi Laura, I was wondering if the room is still available? I've come from Spain to NYC to do some research on historic districts and I'm going to stay here until mid october. My research is based in Bed-Stuy so the location would be quite convenient.
Let me know. Thanks!
