Two CS ambassadors who pointed out problems like these and pressed CS to do something about them (and one of them actually did by writing an excellent browser plugin bringing back features which improve safety) had their profiles deleted by CS without notice, and htat with the outrageous allegation that the very people who went to great lengths trying to improve safety were themselves safety hasards.

Half of the problems on CS could be solved by just scrapping the stupid Place page idea and going back to where we were three months ago.

Recently posted in London:

"I would like to visit london this summer, the idea is that my girls 6 and 10, could meet children of their age and practice english while they are playing. They speak french and spanish and are learning english. If i could find a mother like me who is interested in that kind of project."

This message comes from a nearly-empty profile created three days ago: no picture or references, and the only real detail is about a trip to Cuba ten years ago.

The 'mission': "I used to travel by myself, now i would like to travel with my little girl so they ca practice english or other langage and have nice experiences abroad with different child. They are already open minded little persons! I want to keep on ,on that way!!"

Does this seem to anyone else incredibly dumb?

The CS-leaders should develop an instruction manual for how-to-use-the-site with the same ambition which they have in changing the site.

To change the actual situation of couch-requests there are some possibilities:
-the new users have to pass a ´small´ test before they are able to write a couch-request
-the first couch-request is possible after a given time (two/four weeks)
-the first couch-request is possible after the new user filled up his profile.

BUT I think the paid CS-leaders have no intentions to work on it, because…
…it takes time,
…it costs money,
…there could be less new users because of the ´work´ before the first couch-request.

AND the paid CS-leaders don´t want to hear criticism of their work, they don´t understand the users build up this site and do all the work…

I trust that an instruction manual is now just a matter of time because I have seen one of the managers responsible for that kind of stuff post this on Twitter:

"If you're going to change your tool: UPDATE YOUR DOCUMENTATION YOU ASSHOLES."

Certainly, but these people are known to be determined and creative, and Google is helping with the rest.

I redirected her to the family group, yes. Though I wonder what they'll make of her.

Isn't it a pity CS is determined not to promote any resource controlled by the community to new members? The Family Welcome group is one of the things they should want to get out there.
