Dealing with the new PLACES PAGES...A Fresh Approach
Posted March 21st, 2013 - 1:14 pm by from New York, United States (Permalink)
Recently when I was checking the NYC Places page I started to get really annoyed with all the stupid, inane posts like commercial spam, crappy quests from members who, signed up yesterday looking for accommodation for 2 weeks for them and 6 friends without profiles etc etc. we all know the drill.

So as I was getting annoyed with these new formats and started to get irritated, I just suddenly started laughing and had this BRAINSTORM....

What if instead of cursing all these posts and lecturing the poster on proper procedure for posting in the group, what if we just bumped them to the top. Make a game of it. The more inane, the more bumping! Instead of flagging, try bumping. Make it a challenge to find the most idiotic and ridiculous posts and bump them to the top. Maybeh even make a contest out of it.

What do u think?

Cheers
Dave

Surfers in desperate need of a couch always deserve a helping hand. So yes, sounds good to me.

You can also post this for a good laugh (from CS Milano):

Hilarious.

Can someone post a link to the original at bitstrips.com? I couldn't quickly find it.

From Tony Espinoza, a revealing comment/slip about CS' future direction:

"Please keep in mind though that Places aren't meant to cover every town but serve as hubs for major destinations that travelers would visit."

Wow, a free all-inclusive travel agency! Not my way to travel, but I'm sure there are customers for that out there.
