Sunday Dessert Potluck & Fundraiser for Caitanya, 10/26 @ Alamo Square, SF
Posted October 24th, 2008 - 12:49 am by from Berkeley, United States (Permalink)

We are combining the "Kinda" 3rd Sunday Potluck and the SF Day of Decadent Dessert Indulgence together for this special one-time event - which will serve as a fundraiser for Caitanya.

As many of you know, one of our valued Couchsurfing members and friends in the San Francisco community, Caitanya Min, has recently been involved in a nasty bike accident. She is now in the SF General Hospital ER with some broken ribs, possibly a punctured lung, a broken collarbone and multiple contusions /roadrash. Unfortunately, she does not have medical insurance to cover her hospital bill.

This Sunday we will be joining forces to raise money for Caitanya's hospital fund. We will be keeping a collection jar for your donations. Every little bit helps. Whether you can contribute $2 or $100 - it's the thought that counts.

So come out and show your support for Caitanya - and enjoy a fun day of dessert eating, outdoor activities and film watching in the company of some great CSers. :)

If you're a San Francisco resident, a traveler who happens to be visiting the San Francisco area, or a new surfer who wants to learn more about Couchsurfing, then you're invited to join us for a fun potluck meet-up, which is taking place on this Sunday, October 26th, at Alamo Square!

Who says you can't eat dessert first?

Come enjoy a day of dessert eating and film watching in San Francisco's Alamo Square. Let's feast on cakes, pies, cookies, ice cream, fruit salads and lemonade while watching the ultimate sweet tooth movie, "Willie Wonka and The Chocolate Factory." Talk about scrumdidilyumptious!

We'll be cooking up our famous dessert crepes for you once again. Yes folks, that's right. Strawberries, nutella, bananas, and the fixins for your eating pleasure. They'll be nice and warm, just like you want 'em. You sure don't want to miss this. :)

Bring your friends, bring your couchsurfers, and bring something sweet to share with your fellow CSers!

Alamo Square should be nice and sunny, so feel free to bring your dogs, your frisbees, your hacky sacks, your hula hoops, your musical instruments, and your soccer balls for some outdoor fun. :)

This a dessert-themed potluck event. You are asked to bring one item/dish with you to share with your fellow CSers. It can be anything from a box of raspberries to a pound of chocolate to a batch of homemade cookies. Below is a list of food and supplies that we need for the potluck. Please indicate what you will be bringing in your Event Comment. Thanks!
