Dear Salsa Lovers,

As you might know, Vienna Calling is getting closer and closer : http://www.couchsurfing.org/group.html?gid=25913

set events http://www.couchsurfing.org/meetings.html?mid=37333

we are looking for some suggestions for a Salsa evening, which would be a sub-event of "Friday Night out": http://www.couchsurfing.org/meetings.html?mid=69756

if you can help, we would need:
costs (is there an entry fee)...

we are collecting all ideas and will fix one location as soon as possible - if possible, before the end of this week (Sunday, May 16th).

hope you can help :)

I quite liked the "Floridita" the last time I went Salsa dancing in Vienna. But I know there's another club around the corner. Have no idea about timetables or entrance fees though ... (yet).

Will definitely follow this thread and join you guys for some Salsa dancing :-)))

See you

Jacquie :-)

Hey Vinçenc,

I hope you are fine! Unfortunately, I can't make it to Vienna Calling (possibly I can make it to Vienna in two weekends, Don't know yet) but here is what I think...

On the one hand, the clubs inside the center are easy reachable (El Dorado, Floridita, Havanna) but the problem is that I can imagine that they will be too crowed a Friday evening of June for all the CS gang. Moreover, this means that it's more difficult to negotiate cocktail prices discounts.

There is a new bar/club near the University Campus in Langegasse (it's called new havana I think). I went only once, and although it seemed big enough, it lacked some music power. The good thing is that it may be easier to get deals in prices or to make the bar CS only that night.

Finally, I know that there are some rooms that are used for practising salsa some nights by the people doing courses in Floridita. You surely can ask the teacher (El cubano Jorge) about these rooms and whether they could be available.

That's all I know.

Ola Jose :)...

thanks for the suggestions:)

great, you're visiting us :) bad not during Vienna Calling :( buuuuuuuuuuuu bubuububbubu

Since I am part of a team that will co-ordinate a dozen of events I am more looking for someone that likes to do it and would like to organize it also... be part of it of course.

Since I know some people at El Dorado, I will try to contact them and will try to find someone that will check out the Campus one :)

Certainly have heard good things about Floridita as well though as far as I can see from the www pages (unfortunately cannot find any info about prices etc :) it is mainly LA style and I dance Cuban... either way though if there is a Salsa party then I am there for sure :)

Hasta luego :)
