Where should I live? Eeek!

Hi! I am moving to NY for a 3 month internship in Yonkers. I am wanting to live in the Bronx so I can have quick access to the subway. Are there any hip areas of town that have bars/shops/restaurants/art that I should stay close to? I would love to be surrounded with other 30 something professionals that love culture and nightlife :) I have no clue about the area so any help would be wonderful!!!
Thanks!
Ariel

I completely agree with Steve. We live in Woodlawn also and it is a fantastic, lively and safe neighborhood. Come check it out first before you make a decision and you will be happy that you did. Let us know!
Best,
Greg and Natasha

Hey there. You are more than welcome to stay with me now that my brother got married off and I Live alone again. I live in Norwood which is only 5 minutes from Yonkers. By car I have the Bronx river parkway, Durham expressway, and saw mill river parkway right off my street which is beautiful MOSHULO parkway.
By public transit, I have the d train 4 train, metro north railroad, and several bus lines that go through Yonkers.
My area is extremely safe and clean and bustling with life, human and nature wise. And there are all kinds of stores restaurants and services on 204th and Bainbridge. Send me a private message and check our my profile if interested and good luck.

Thanks for the compliment my neighbor to the north. I happen to love my neighborhood because it is not predominantly anything. Like me. There are slot of Bangladeshi yemenese Korean Jewish Albanian Puerto Rican and dominican people around here and some celebrities across the parkway in Bedford park. I don't know much about Woodlawn only been there once at might and surprised to see so much life. Maybe we can get together to have a drink and maybe organize some kind of couchsurfing event. Private message me.org you will. Thanks again neighbor.

Hi Ariel, I live in Bedford Park on the west side of the Bronx. It's very quiet, very safe, and just a few minutes walk to the 4 train, the B/D train, and Metro North. Not a whole lot in terms of nightlife, but easy access to public transportation to anywhere in the city. I'd be more than happy to give you more info or show you around if you'd like. :)
All the best,
Stacy
