Multi-day hikes in ZA
Posted January 26th, 2013 - 7:26 am by from Oakland, United States (Permalink)
Anyone interested in going for a long hike? I think I'm going to rent a car and drive to the starting points of one or more of these hikes. And also thinking of doing a multi-day trip to Drakensberg from Jo'burg. I have a flight out of Jo'burg on the 16th of Feb, so anything has to happen between now and then.

I have my own tent, a stove, I am a really experienced hiker. I am mostly just looking for some good company along the way. It would be great to meet up with someone to see if we would enjoy each other's company before hand.

More info about the hikes I've been looking into:

Coffee Bay to Port St John's
http://www.wildcoasthikes.com
(website has rates for reasonably priced guided hikes, all the rest of these are self-guided)

Strandloper hiking trail
http://www.sahikes.co.za/Details.asp?TrailID=200
R560 for 5 days

Tsitsikamma Trail (somewhat similar to the Otter Trail)
R110/person/night at huts
Can be as many as 6 days, but some of the distanes between huts are quite short, so maybe it would be better to skip some huts

Two-river trail
2-nights at huts/2 days walking - R180; 1 night at hut/2 days walking R120

Send me a CS message if you are interested.
