Does anyone have any recent experience of the El Pasaje spanish school in Buenos Aires? I am starting a 7 month trip around SA in January in BA and have v little Spanish so want to take classes for a couple of weeks to start with. I don't want to go to one of the large factory type schools and after a lot of research I've found El Pasaje school, which seems to be small and independent and gets amazing reviews on trip advisor. The reviews almost seem too good to be true though so I'd be grateful if anyone on here has any experience of it that they can share.
I don't know how it is. But it seems good. It is localized in a very central part of Buenos Aires. I think it's good.
Good luck with your trip!
Hi Karina, sorry, also no experience with this school, I can only recommend www.academiabuenosaires.com which is a great community, price is a little more than the usual schools, but there are many sideactivities which are free, movienight, guided trips to different places in the city a.s.o. - one more tip: in most schools you can negotiate the price if you stay for more than one week. And I would recommend not to book the hostels over the school, this is more expensive. I have got a room for one month for the price most schools charge for one week accomodation. I am also on a 7 months trip through SA and in BA now. saludos mica
I know two of the teachers/founding members personally for many years. They are both nice people, caring and take the school very seriously and professionally. I do not know about their skill as teachers (I met them in a different context), but they are committed and honest folks.
I've been taking spanish classes at El Pasaje for the past month and can assure you it's awesome! I'm thinking about staying for another month in BA because I like them so much! I haven't taken classes at other schools so I don't have anything to compare to but it's certainly not factory-esque at all (this is also something I was trying to avoid). I have never had more than 3 other people in classes with me and I feel like I'm learning quite quickly. The teachers are intelligent, friendly, hilarious, and warm. We talk about a lot of different stuff in spanish (current events, history, family, travels) so you get more than just new vocab. Anyways, PM me if you want more details/have questions. I love it and if I stay, maybe we can study together!
Thank you for your message, that is really good to hear. I have booked in for the first two weeks in January. Looking forward to it and may be see you then.
