Looking for people to share an Apartment 11th-17th
Posted January 25th, 2010 - 9:20 pm by from Bristol, England (Permalink)
Hi,

I'm looking for a group of people to share accomodation during carnival and of course to party with!

I have been travelling SA solo and have got nowhere with planning accomodation for carnival, I will be meeting up with a few people but unfortunately they can't put me up. I figure if a few people are initerested we could start looking for an apartment thats about the right size (Im happy to sleep on the floor). Between 4 it could be a whole load cheaper then a hostal!

So If your interested in sharing or have an apartment that has space for 4 or more people to sleep (e.g. two in the bed one in the bath and one on the couch) please reply to this post and we can get chatting to see if it might work.

There seems to be a few apartments that can sleep 4 for about 2000 reais, and one for 6 at 3000. So its still kinda expensive with the downside of some people not being in beds, upside of: Being avaliable during carnival, TV, Kitchen, Bathroom between few people, security etc...

To sum up about 500 reis, 270 USD, 170 GBP, 300 Aus Dollar. per person. For one week during carnival, sharing bed or on couch/floor.

Whos still in? I'd kinda like to get this sorted by the end of the week if poss, otherwise I might change my plans for carnival and travel elsewhere.

Realistically, I think people will need to commit for a week with the same dates, or arrange for someone to share the cost / dates themselves.

:p sorry boring message, I'm not usually an administrative ballache but just wanna see if this might actually happen.

Hi,
My friend and me will arrive from Paris the 15th in Rio. And it seems VERY difficult to find a place to sleep...
Your suggestion to share an apartement might be the best one, to sleep, and to meet other travellers.
Anyway, we are interrested. I saw 2 post before that a CSurfers (ssKim) will leave Rio the 15th in the morning and would like to share an apartment. We can do the "intermediary".
What do you think about this idea?
See you soon?

Hey Owen (and everybody)!

Im coming into Rio sometime around the beginning of the festival (dates not 100% yet). definitely interested in the apt share, but want to know where it is and which dates youll have it for. Also does anybody have tickets for the events? I didnt realize until recently that other than the parties in the streets, you gotta have entrance to the main parades.

Obrigada!

Hey Owen, I would have totally gone in on your offer but I already made accommodations at a hostel called Samba Villa. It’s an Irish Pub and Hostel in one.

SAMBA VILLA (HOSTEL)
Address:
Evaristo da Veiga St 147 (Esquina com rua Mem de Sa) Lapa- Rio De Janeiro-Brazil
email: reservations@sambavilla.com
Owners Name: Katterina

I think they have five more beds left. They require a 7 day reservations for Carnival (Feb 13th-19th). Total ends up being around $550 (US) and they have AC in the rooms and free food and drinks.

Regardless, I'd still be interested in meeting up with fellow CS peep's so maybe this would be a good place to gather the troops?

I have A place for 6 which I will put a deposit on tomorrow (me and 5 others), I have contacted those who have shown interest with more details on the apartment. Dates are 10-17th. You need to commit to those dates (not flexible) and pay the full 500reis per person.

If you can find someone else to share the dates and cost that is for you to do, not me.

Contact me AS SOON AS YOU READ THIS if you are interested.

Hopeing to build a happy rio party CS family.

Happy travells

Owen

Hello,
I decided to spend the carnival at the home of friends in Rio, and have an apartment available for rent during Carnival.
The apartment is in the neighborhood of Gloria, 100 meters from the neighborhood of Lapa.
I have a single bed and 2 mattresses, TV, fridge, grill, fan and internet if you have a computer.
is next to the subway, bus to all the Rio de Janeiro and the street carnival. It's my fourth year at the carnival of Rio de Janeiro, and I can indicate the best carnival festivities, or you can hang out with me and my friends.

February 12 to February 21
10 days
if anyone is interested send me a private message
