I plan to come for the Carnival next year 2011 in March..I am not sure whether I should buy the tickets online or should I wait to buy it when i get there physically?which is cheaper?anyone can give me any suggestion or advise?
And is it worth it to go to the Ball in Copacabana Hotel n pay about usd900?
Need some advice what is the best economical way to spend time in Rio for the Carnival..

Hi Haliza,

Gabriela is right-- you can get tickets either online or in front of the Sambadromo. I think you could probably find cheaper tickets in front of the Sambadromo, but you have to be careful as it is not in the best part of town and with all the action here you just have to be mindful! It also helps if you can speak Portugese.

I didn't go to any of the balls.. I had a friend who went to one, but she said it wasn't really worth it. Honestly, the most action you'll find will be on the streets where all the parades are. It's so much fun!
