7-8 days Uganda
Posted December 16th, 2012 - 8:28 pm by from Oshakati, Namibia (Permalink)
Hi all experienced Uganda travellers,

Imagine you had only 7-8 days in Uganda, coming from Kigali: Where would you go? I've done some readings on the travel opportunities, but it's always nicer to hear first hand. Which places have you enjoyed, which are overrated?

Thanks and regards from Namibia,

Jo

In 8 days I was able to spend one night in Kampala, buy a gorilla permit for nukaringo group the next day, and travel by night bus to Kisoro. Trek with the gorillas, then head to lake bayoni for a few peaceful nights. Up to Ruwenzori mountains for a night and a day hike and hot springs then to fort portal and the crater lakes. Back to Kampala for a night on the town and then early morning white water rafting in Jinja. If you have a bit of extra time and you are into hiking you can visit the sippee falls.

Albeit a quick journey and a lot of travel, the down time at lake bayoni and hiking and swimming at the crater lakes is relaxing.

Have fun and Enjoy!,

You could take a round trip from kampala-Jinja( rafting, camping, etc) - Mbale sipi falls, Moroto, Kidepo Valley NP, bustling with wild life: Zebras, lots of lions, and all other animals...( we even found a lion in the toilet at the campsite in the morning!) Infact I did not need a game drive at the campsite we were at in Kidepo, very nice scenery and wild wild. return to kamplal Via Gulu, see the aruu falla, karuma falls, stop over at Zziwa Rhino sanctuary for the Rhinos....alot to do...

Hope you have fun and if u need help, you can send a message.

Remmie.
