American needs Job/Residence Permit ANYWHERE in Europe
Posted March 20th, 2013 - 3:52 am by from Santa Monica, United States (Permalink)
Hello All :)

I hope someone might have some tips for this because Europe must really hate Americans. Its just about impossible to find an employer who will hire me direct instead of the "independent contractor" route. You cannot get a residence permit unless you are hired directly into a company.....or come in the country with over $250k in the bank.

So, If anyone on this job group can give me some tips, company names, individual entrepreneurs.....anybody that can help me get around this massive red tape for Americans please reply to this post or msg me privately. I can be ready to go in just a few weeks.

As far as what I am looking for it doesnt really matter SO much. If I can avoid the telemarketing companies or commission only jobs so much the better.

Id be willing to take a job just about anywhere. Ideally Id like to go to Scandinavia. The Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Czech and Hungary for that matter are great options. But like I said Im open to just about anywhere if it accomplishes my goal

Basically the only skill Im bringing to the table is that Im a native English speaker.....which I know is a pretty lame resume by itself. I have some background in the hospitality industry and currently work at a luxury apartment building in Westwood, CA. USA. I'd love to learn a new skill and work with people that love what they do. Its not all about the money for me...Ive learned that lesson in life.

So please Msg me or reply with any ideas....no matter how unconventional.

Hey Dude.

I'm living in Europe for 4 years and all I can say it's pretty much the same for anyone who is not citizen from Europe Union.

I have many friends from US, Australia and Canada working in English schools in Poland. Even if you don't want work in that country for long time, they give you a residence card which is valid in any country of Europe Union. Other option you have is you get a job in UK. I don't know the rules to Americans there but I believe it's no so strict as it is for the rest o people outside E.U.

Consider that what I said also valid to Slovakia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Hungary and other few countries which I don't remember right now

also you can work as a volunteer in a E.U Country and that gives you also a residence card and work permit (valid just for that company/NGO you are working for).

I hope I had helped

Good Luck
