Hi guys, I just received the following message, so in case anyone is interested:
I am a Producer working on a television show called House Hunters International which follows English speaking expats in their quest to move abroad. I wonder if you or any of your expat contacts might be interested in getting involved?! Please find a little blurb about the show below:
House Hunters International is a half-hour program currently airing on the Home and Garden Television Network (HGTV) in America. The series is designed to de-mystify the international home-buying / renting process by going behind the scenes of a house hunt where expats and their real estate agents tour 3 homes. At its core, House Hunters International is a travel show concentrating on the idiosyncrasies of the locales and what makes them special and different.
You can watch some examples of the show here:
- London from South Africa (1600 series)
- Dubai from Illinois (2000 series)
We are looking for young, outgoing expats with an interesting story to tell who are about to move abroad or who have moved abroad within the last few years.
Please get in touch if you have any more questions about the show. I look forward to hearing from you!
Best wishes and many thanks,

Well. Firstly, thanks for sharing the info and links. Secondly, I guess unfortunately for me, they're looking for someone who's paying at least about 3 times what I do currently on the rent! I wonder if my story of 3 years sharing flats (right after I moved from Tehran to Barcelona) and moving 6 times in Catalonia -Spain , plus a couple of month of disastrous house hunting challenge in Germany (as it was students season), would interest them. Even though, I'm finally having my own flat, still it's tiny compared to the ones in the videos I've just watched from their show!!
From what I got, they seem to be looking for something exotic, but very fancy. My accommodation was never fancy!!
