need some guidance
Posted February 19th, 2012 - 12:43 am by from Cluj-Napoca, Romania (Permalink)

We are two young open minded Hungarians, Barni and Imola, both 22 years old, who would like to know better the Viennese life, because we feel close to its culture since it's quite similar considering other European capitals, to Budapest (in our point of view). We want to move there for one or maybe more months to see and experience as many things as we can and to improve our German language skills from school.
Since here, on CouchSurfing, people are really friendly, intelligent and understanding we thought it would be a good idea to come here to get advice. We also think that only local people can really show us the secrets of the city and could catch the spirit of everyday life through them. :)
Our question is, where is it worth trying to find and rent a room with low budget, and how should it be made, what's its procedure there?
We need some briefing and guidance in the first days, so we'd be very happy/appreciate if somebody would wait for us and could host us for a few days.. We'll arrive with plane to Vienna in the 1st of March.

We look forward to your response,
Barni and Imola

hello barni and imola!!
i just read your post and maybe can help a little.. unfortunately i'm not able to host you but what i can tell you about your flat-situation is: maybe you already know, vienna is divided into districts (23) and as i know the first and 19th district are the more expensive ones.. but i think if you are lucky you can find a cheap flat anywhere. anyway, if youre searching for a flat there's a website called www.jobwohnen.at there you can find people offering to share a flat or own flats.
i hope this was in some way a useful information:) i dont know a lot about the flat and money situation but if you need advice for some nice places to visit let me know!:) i hope you enjoy!!
