Piaf/German Cabaret/Neapolitan folk...singer looking to start a band
Posted February 4th, 2012 - 6:47 am by from New York, United States (Permalink)
Hi! I thought I'd put up something on a whim and see if there are any takers. I'm a classically trained soprano and I've been doing vocal training to get back into seriously auditioning for opera and theater. BUT I'd really love to have a sort of side project. I've always liked the music of Edith Piaf, La Bolduc (Quebecoise singer), bossa nova, gypsy, 20s-40s jazz, folk music of Italy, German parlor and cabaret songs and I think it would be a lot of fun to have a band and play some of these songs at venues around the city!

Let me know if you're interested...

I think piano is essential but other instruments are definitely welcome...it's just that this rep is best with a keyboard as a base. accordion, harmonica, strings would be nice

Hi Suzanne,
Have you gotten any responses yet?
I work quite a bit, but might be interested in playing.
I am a saxophonist living in Jersey City.
