hey guys

i ll be in new york at the end of October and a would like to play music on the street..
how is the situation in US for us musicians?
i ll need a license or respect some rules?

hey andrea,

definitely do a little research- there are some places where it is ok, and some places where you may get hassled by the cops (an expensive ticket).

subways generally are more difficult, i would recommend going somewhere in central park sometime midday. tourists are your best bet. just look out for "Quiet Area" signs and you should be ok. also washington square park can often be a good spot, and there are no quiet areas but always a lot of musicians set up, and there is some pretty stiff competition out there!

generally be smart and respectful and you should be ok. let me know if you have more questions. what do you play?

my adventure start in new york,cross Mississippi,Texas till the west like San Francisco and Seattle.
