I CAN OFFER:

-Teaching you how to fix bicycles :D

I'D LIKE TO LEARN:

-How to play the trumpet :D

Posted August 30th, 2010 - 9:17 am by from Leeds, England (Permalink)
I CAN OFFER:

* English - I'm a qualified with CELTA (the Certificate in English or CELTA) so I'm always happy to give lessons!
* Lecture/discussion about noise and electroacoustic music composition. I can talk anyone's ears off about 'noise' as a form of music. The concept of noise in or as music is stuffed full of problems and it is a wonderfully complex area. Then I'll go about describing my processes of creating computer-based music, playing back some classic examples of noise (Merzbow, Carlos Giffoni) and a couple of my compositions.
* Singing - I've sung in various choirs and perhaps I can teach you to read music as well.
* Guitar lessons.
* Writing poetry. Would lead/take part in writing sessions.

WANT TO LEARN:

* How to knit! I really want to do a nice big blanket - nothing too fancy.
* How to dance salsa. I know the basics well but want to get much better. Ditto for samba.
* How to fix a bike.

REALLY, REALLY, REALLY WANT TO LEARN:

* Russian! I learnt and quickly forgot the azbuka last year, as well as some phrases.

WANT TO SHARE

* My love of Klezmer and Balkan music, like brass bands and gypsy groups. Anyone know any good bands/artists that I probably don't?
* Any kind of poetry reading or writing sessions: close reading of Pushkin (in English!) or Eliot or whoever.
* Swedish speaking practice. I have basic Swedish but would love to share what I do know and to learn more Svenska from others. Ditto for German, which I know much more of.
* Meditation
* Cooking
* Jam sessions - I can play percussion or guitar. Free improv would be great!
* General discussions about religion and philosophy. I am an (agnostic!) Quaker but am interested in learning about other practices/philosophies.
* Choir/singing sessions.

HI, the idea is so great. I can't wait to learning, teaching and sharing. I am not in Berlin now but I am going to Berlin in June. I think I could meet some friends here before I go to Berlin. Many people are so talented in varied field.

I would like to offer

I want to learn
-German, of course
-Singing, I like to sing and have sung in collage choir for a few years, but I can’t read music very well. Who can tell me, if I’ll stay Berlin just for three Month, can I find a suitable choir to take part in?
-Improve my English skill maybe
-“Cheap and interesting ways of travel” it’s really useful.

Hello all,

This idea seems very good. I am interested in many of the things proposed by people.My rpoblem is I can't classify things I know and the ones I would like to learn. I have interests in diverse stuffs and would like to know many new things. So I would like to classify as interest.

Things i like to learn:
1. Vegan cooking and cooking in general.
2. Spirituality and meditation(new techniques)
3.Cheap and interesting ways of travel
4. Newer perspective
5. Yoga
6.Guitar
7. Learning german langauge.

The point is how do we start. I see people putting their list of interests. Do we arrange for some meeting or just contact the people having similar interests in private.

I hope this won't die out as just another post.

Cheers
Neel

Hi everyone!
I´ve just read so many interesting things that I don´t want to whom I might reply...either where I should start...
I guess that I´m writing because I would like to join this philosophy of sharing...I´ve always believed that world is a "Chain of favours" (Pay it forward)...
So...what I would like to learn? Besides German or Yoga...I find interesting to learn almost everything!
What can I offer? As I´m an experienced teacher of Spanish, I cannot imagine teaching anything else!!
I would like to share..time, by enjoying Berlin (as I´ve just arrived one month ago and I don´t know the city as much), walking (I love mountains, forests...),cooking, having a tee or a beer, having fun!, changing experiences and so,etc.

Lovely Idea!!

I can teach:
- Italian language
(I have a linguistic background and a lot of experience in teaching. I can teach from the basic to higher levels);
- Italian cooking
(please note that I am veg*an, so the point would be: I ca teach you how to cook PROPERLy, but I will show you only vegetarian/vegan alternatives to everything.
I just made real Ragù alla Bolognese, but using soy! I can assure you that the tastes are THE SAME.)
- How to translate (I am getting my Translator BA degree, therefore I can give you some tips to translate in a proper way!)
- Basics of English, German and Croatian/Serbian/Bosnian (I have been learning this languages for a long time, I can help you with the basic levels)
- Italian card games such as Briscola, Tresette, Scala 40, Machiavelli (rather unusual, but still very funny!)

I would like to learn:
- ANY NEW LANGUAGE YOU CAN TEACH
(Hindi, Chinese, Japanese, Greek, Turkish, Norwegian... Everything! But you should have a basic linguistic background, otherwise it's impossible to learn from the beginning.);
- Improve my knowledge of English, German, Croatian/Bosnian/Serbian (the more, the better!);
- How to knit, sew, any handicraft et similia;
- How to play ANY instrument (apart from djembè, I hate them!);
- Anything you can teach me is welcome: the meaning and the aim of my life is LEARNING.

I can share:
- Tipps about Berlin, Zagreb, Trieste, Milano, Forlì, London;
- My experiences during my life;
- My knowledges about piercing, tattoo and body modifications in general;
- Time and talk;
- My friendship;
- My little culture that MUST be widen;
- Everything I can share!
