Hi Isla,
I think we just need to create our own party!! I am as picky as you and I have space at home where we could dance.
I offer it.
So,
- who brings drums (or other instruments)?
- who plays the music?
- if we cannot have live music, who can bring loudspeakers?
- everybody is supposed to bring music!

Ill make tea.

OK ok ok!

This sounds pretty interesting to me. I will happily play some tunes with ppl or alone. I have a really lovely but really shitty guitar that I can do some crazy free-improv stuff on, but I'm really into drumming so perhaps can knock some pots and pans around. I have no drum kit.

I can also provide ambient / noise music but, well, that might just be getting a little TOO avant garde!

Anywho, I still have some less crazy recommendations for free dancing - bands like Animal Collective, Black Dice, oh I don't know, I could go on for ages...

Are we thinking about dancing with definite rhythms, free rhythms, both or inbetween a nice mash of everything?

In. Tri. Guing!

I'm really into free improv / noise which is ALL about using your ears like a child again, and generally becoming a lot more, I don't know, primitive/simple/ingenuous/not trying to sound like a super skilled mega rock star.

So:

- I can play music for this
- I could bring my speakers (fairly decent subwoofer, and two small speakers - can get loud and not too hard to carry around)
- I am also up fo dancing.

Let's hope this happens!

As I am a little spießig, I like music with a fixed rythm and something like a melody. I have two pots that can be used as percussion instruments and some other stuff as well, of course. Hahahaha, it going to be a we-are-babies-and-wanna-play-and-dance-session. real fun, i hope.

hi, sounds like a crazy open space for creativ human interaction. short: sounds fun :-)

I'm in.

I play piano, but i'll play anything (yes, anything else), too. If there's nothing to make music with i'll use my body (clap hands, sing...or else).

I've experienced some nice dancing and singing at the fullmoon drum circle when i lived in Kassel. Since I'm back in Berlin i really miss those sessions.

looking forward to a nice time

Konstantin

Hooray!!!!! Free dancing is my favourite thing in the world.

And I agree that it doesn't work so well in clubs or festivals because you either bump into people with your closed eyes are closed or people ruin it by hitting on you because they assume that your wasted and available.

We should definitely organise an event for this.

I'm also up for attending classes. Thanks for the links, Lorna! Just message me if you'd like to join - I'll probably check it out next week sometime.
