BTW, i meant real surfing... on waves. as opposed to couch surfing. though the real surfing doesnt necisarily exclude couch surfing.

G’day, is anyone up for some surfing down the coast?
I’m returning from 6-years in Finland to my home city of Adelaide for a 5-week holiday from Dec 18th till Jan 27th, and suddenly got the urge to go on a surfing trip. During this time I’ll be mainly hanging out in Adelaide with my family and childhood friends.
I’m interested in heading somewhere down the coast to where there are some big waves (something more significant than the 2mm waves in Adelaide) and spending a week or so just surfing and having fun.
I’m a hardcore free-rider snowboarder, regulary going snowboarding here in Finland, and in my previous trips to the alps and Canadian rockies. Though I have never gotten around to learning to surf, growing up in Adelaide I didnt have good waves, and then leaving to Finland for such a long time has meant that I haven’t had a chance to realize this dream of learning surfing on some awesome waves.
I’d be interested in travel companions for a surf trip(I have a car, and we could rent hostel, or tent it), or somewhere to stay(and a couch?) at a surf beach. If there is someone that can surf and is willing to teach me then it’d be greatly appreciated (I can return the favor by teaching you some crazy free-tiding snowboarding if you ever visit Finland). Is there anyone living/traveling to a surfing beach that would be up for teaching me to surf, and having a fellow surfing companion?
I’d normally contact people directly, though I have no idea on who’s really into surfing, so I figure a group post would hopefully locate some of the surfers here.
It’d be awesome if we could organize a surfing trip down the coast, lots of fun with a great bunch of people.
