Third Street Ale Works Meet-up for Pint Night!!!
Posted February 11th, 2013 - 6:47 pm by from Santa Rosa, United States (Permalink)
Hey Sonoma County!

It's been a while since we've been active!!

I'm proposing we do a very spontaneous meet-up at ThirdStreet AleWorks for their weekly Pint Night for some kickin' nachos, refreshing libations, pool tables, games, and amazing company of fellow Sonoma County locals and travelers!

Seriously, let's do this!

:)

Sounds like fun! My fiance and I love going to Friar's in downtown Cotati which often has free to only $1/game of pool. Down to switch back and forth week to week? I love getting together for a pint and some fun!

Smiles!

Yay!! It's Jensyn! :) For those of you who haven't met Jensyn... you absolutely MUST! You'll love her... guaranteed. I'm planning on attending the meet-up tomorrow and I hope to see a bunch of you!

Won't be able to make it...

Enjoy!

See you next time

So excited to see people--whoever can attend. Those of you who cannot, never fear! We can do this next week too--maybe in Cotati. :)

However, I will be there and I am bringing friends who are not so active on the CS community. We can lure them in!

See you tonight!!!

thanks for putting this together Jensyn. they tend to get pretty busy by 6pm on tuesdays so you may want to call and give them a heads up. hopefully they can hold a larger table upstairs for us.
look forward to seeing everyone soon!

We're outside. In green! Have outdoor tables.

Darn. I went up stairs and didn't recognize anyone so I left. :-(

Posted February 13th, 2013 - 7:20 am by from Sebastopol, United States (Permalink)
I looked everywhere inside, upstairs, and outside and didn't see anyone I recognized. The hostess did't have any idea that there might be couch surfers there, so I left.
Sorry I missed you after driving from Sebastopol.
Maybe somebody can tell the hostess where you are next time??.

Are we all going to meet up again? And when/where?

Posted February 24th, 2013 - 7:57 pm by from Brentwood, United States (Permalink)
How about at the Redwood Cafe in Cotati ?

Posted February 24th, 2013 - 8:29 pm by from Cotati, United States (Permalink)
The Redwood Cafe can be sooooo loud, but if we sit out in the beer garden it's not quite so bad. The food is a little expensive there, but then again most places in Cotati are for what you get. I always love to meet in downtown Cotati, so I'm not really complaining. I'm just throwing out about how loud it can get since some of my meetup groups of complained about that.

I have an alternate suggestion, even though I'm still out of town for a few more weeks. But I want to encourage meet ups to keep happening.
How about Sprenger's Taproom in downtown Santa Rosa. It's usually quiet, not crowded, has tons of great beer on tap, and cheap (though limited) food.
It's right across from Macy's, facing the mall, 446 B street...

That sounds like a great possibility. What night are we meeting up this week? The only nights I have plans are Wed and Fri. I've never heard of Sprenger's. Though looking it up on Yelp worries me a bit. Do you have experience going there yourself?

That sounds great too. I'm finding that the Redwood Cafe is also a big meetup spot too. Though the last meeting there for one of my groups, people kept posting that it was too loud. So now I'm searching for a not too busy spot, but we all love for any spot to have good food and beer. I haven't spent too much time in Occidental but I have been to Barley and Hops before.

I agree with you for the most part about Redwood Cafe, I just always end up feeling that for the price I could get better food ... not that the food isn't good. There are grass fed beef burgers at the Mexican place next door for about 9 dollars. Mike's can be loud as well. I live within walking distance to downtown Cotati so I know most of the places well.

Oh and just to throw it out there, I lead the Sonoma County Vinophiles on Meetup and we have a perk discount of 10% off beer on tap at Heritage Public House in Santa Rosa. I've never been by there myself but I've been in contact with the owner quite a bit by email. I hear it's a cool place to bring your wine and sit and talk. Does that sound appealing to anyone?

Posted February 24th, 2013 - 9:29 pm by from Cotati, United States (Permalink)
Oh just saw that the Heritage Public House is temporary closed until March 1st.

I tend to go to the Mexican place when they aren't busy so service is a bit more attentive. I just treat the place like a European cafe when they are busy. They do really care about their customers, so I'm glad you're willing to give them another shot. The food that they make well is awesome, but I know what you mean about mediocre. The first three things I ordered there were like that for me.

I wrote the owner of Heritage who let me know that they are moving to the old video droid location on Mendo. He mentioned on Yelp that it should be worth the wait!

That is true! I can always let Dino know directly to be expecting us. I have wanted to meet him personally for some time, so maybe that will help us get better service!

I love Underwood! Anything that is near Michelin is a must try in my book too! I do like Applewood's too. Been a long time since I've been there though. Maybe when I have some more money Michelin recommendations can come back into play.

It's my boyfriend's boss' birthday on Thursday, I have a meeting on Wednesday night, he works Friday, and I have a meetup event that I organized 2 months ago on Saturday, and he works again into the evening next Sunday.

This means if we meet up with you guys this week it will have to be tomorrow. Otherwise I'm down to schedule a day next week. At that time Dino's place should be open and maybe we could hit them up.
