Two girls from Seoul need the inside scoop!
Posted April 4th, 2013 - 5:19 am by from Seoul, South Korea (Permalink)
Hi All,

May 18th and 19th my friend and I will be traveling through California from Seoul, South Korea. I'm a Calfornia-native, but have never really experienced Sonoma County. My friend Su-Jeong is a wine seller here in Seoul, so I'd love to take her around for some tastings, but I'm embarrassed to admit I have never gone myself. What's the typical protocol? Can we just show up at wineries or must we have reservations? Any recommendations of where to go? And lastly, would anyone be so kind as to host us or show us around?

Thanks in advance!

Meryl and Su-Jeong :-)

You can just show up. If you search for Sonoma County Wineries, I'm sure you'll find several guides to tasting rooms in the area.

Hello! I live out in Occidental, in west Sonoma, in the redwoods, a remote location. You are welcome here, and I am willing to talk to you about wineries, although i do not currently drink alcohol. I used to live in the Sonoma area, and I am familiar with different wineries around the county. I am also willing to do some research as well before you arrive. I am a single retired 65 year old man, and Couch Surfers may stay in my daughter Regina's former bedroom, she is 23 and currently living in Guatemala. My 20 year old son lives in Santa Rosa with friends and visit on occasion. Please feel free to contact me if you are interested... by the way, many cell phones do not work out here... I can provide more information if requested. Thanks!
