11/16~17 Izu Rock Climbing Trip - All Levels Welcome

Organized by David Niehoff
11/16~17 (Sat~Sun) Izu Overnight Climbing
Detailed Description of Trip: All technical climbing equipment will be provided on this trip (harness, climbing shoes, and belay device).

The climbing will take place on sea cliffs that will be right next to the ocean. It is quite an amazing location where you can truly experience where sea and mountain meet. The climbs that we will attempt will range from 5.7 - 5.10 in difficulty, and there will be quite a few cracks available to work on some new climbing techniques.

We will also teach you how to rappel (abseil) as some areas in Izu will require rappelling to get to the bottom of the climb. It's a very exciting and fun way to descend a rock.

Saturday will be a full day of climbing so please be prepared to spend the entire day outside.
Meals will be your responsibility, and there will be the option to go out together as a group or individually. There are many great restaurants in the area. There are also many Onsens available in the area, so you will be free to enjoy these.

Sunday will be more climbing on different routes, or in a different area. There is also hiking and great sightseeing in the area, so that will also be available to you. We will plan to depart around 3 or 4 p.m. so that everyone will have a chance to arrive back at their homes at a decent hour.
